Respiratory Infections/Bronchiectasis

Repeated chest infections can occur as a result of undertreated or undiagnosed respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD.

Sometimes symptoms of lung conditions are misinterpreted as being as a result of infection.

Repeated respiratory infections occuring over a long period can be as a result of a condition called bronchiectasis. In bronchiectasis airways become widened and collect mucus.

Problems with the immune system can also cause repeated infections.
